One of the most successful major leaguers to ever spend developmental time in Clinton, McLain is best known for being ace of the Detroit Tigers rotation in the 1960s. Nobody has won 30 games in a single season since his historic 1968 campaign, during which he logged 336 innings and 28 complete games while maintaining a 1.96 earned run average.
The LumberKings featured McLain for Throwback Bobblehead Night last Friday.

Selected in the fourth round of June’s MLB Draft out of North Carolina State University, Edwards quickly progressed through Short Season A Batavia and has since slashed .269/.352/.399 in 55 games with Clinton.

The 22-year-old also takes great pride in his defensive work. Outside of newly acquired Lewin Díaz, Edwards in arguably the best overall first base prospect in the Marlins organization.
