Then, right-hander Cody Poteet calls in (6:45). A 25-year-old starter with Triple-A New Orleans, he reflects on the transition from college powerhouse UCLA to professional baseball, the critical adjustments he made to his delivery last summer and the support he gets from his wife, Madeline.

Poteet’s 118 ²⁄₃ innings pitched this season are most among all Marlins prospects. The Southern California native is eligible to be selected in December’s Rule 5 Draft unless the team protects him on their 40-man roster.
