Welcome to Saturday’s Marlins (32-54) vs. Braves (53-36) game thread.

Throughout the 2019 season, Fish Stripes is your home for daily Fish Picks prop bets. The monthly points leader for July, August, etc. wins Fish Stripes merchandise prizes. We’re also saving something special for the overall full-season points leader. The best seller in our store: Caleb “KKKKKKKaleb” Smith shirts!

(New items coming this month...)

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Marlins Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. CF César Puello
  3. 1B Garrett Cooper
  4. 3B Neil Walker
  5. 2B Starlin Castro
  6. C Jorge Alfaro
  7. LF Harold Ramírez
  8. RF Yadiel Rivera
  9. P Caleb Smith (3.41 ERA, 4.23 FIP, 31.5 K%, 38.9 Hard Hit% in 66.0 IP)

Notes: KKKKKKKaleb is back! The corresponding roster move was to option Jeff Brigham to Triple-A New Orleans. Smith’s seemingly minor issue with left hip inflammation was handled awkwardly by the Fish. They delayed his return with an extra rehab start last Sunday. Today marks one full month since his last MLB appearance.

In Friday’s series opener, the Marlins were shut out for the 14th time this season. The franchise record for most scoreless games was set in 2013 (18 games), putting this team comfortably on pace to surpass that.

Braves Lineup

  1. CF Ronald Acuña Jr.
  2. 2B Ozzie Albies
  3. 1B Freddie Freeman
  4. 3B Josh Donaldson
  5. RF Nick Markakis
  6. LF Austin Riley
  7. SS Johan Camargo
  8. C Tyler Flowers
  9. P Max Fried (4.04 ERA, 3.80 FIP, 22.6 K%, 38.6 Hard Hit% in 93.2 IP)

Notes: The Braves very quietly have the second-lowest bullpen earned run average in the league. An early-season concern has become a strength, although you wouldn’t necessarily describe any one individual as “dominant” for them.
