Our Noticias: Gallen good but loses, Romo returns

Plus, Pablo López works his way back and an interview with Tyler Kolek

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Last night’s game

Zac Gallen gave up just two runs in seven innings and struck out eight, but the offense couldn’t back him, sending the Marlins to a 2-1 loss to the Twins Tuesday night.

Sergio Romo was back on the hill in the eighth in Miami. Only this time it was for the bottom half of the inning.

Garrett Cooper left the game with tightness in his hamstring but doesn’t seem to think it’s serious.

News

Pablo López is on the way back!

The trade deadline is today at 4 p.m. Eastern. Keep track of all our latest coverage here. Though unlikely to be on the move, Caleb Smith and Nick Anderson were drawing the most interest from other teams, as of early Tuesday night.

The Marlins’ hot play of late has them drop in the Tank Race, where we also have a new leader.

The Marlins took Kameron Misner no. 35 overall in this year’s draft. On Tuesday, he hit his first home run for the organization.

While we’re on the farm, have a listen to our latest A-Ball with Erik Oas podcast which includes an interview with 2014 first-round pick Tyler Kolek and the injuries that have derailed his career to this point.
