The Marlins fanbase is alive and well. Throwback Weekend reminded us all that the Marlins, through all their rebranding and changes, are still Florida's team. Wearing one of the franchise’s all-time most popular uniform combinations (circa 1997), they resembled the Marlins of old. Their demeanor was reflective of the retro threads. The team was having a blast from the past, and was enjoying every minute.
This weekend displayed heroics from Harold Ramirez's sac fly in the ninth for the comeback win on Friday night to Miguel Rojas' back-to-back games with a leadoff homer on Saturday and Sunday.
The Marlins were having fun this weekend and it showed, as they defeated the Diamondbacks in two out of three games.
Fish Stripes photographer Danis Sosa was on hand to soak in the festivities (gallery below).
Also, enjoy some of the team’s 90s-inspired social media coverage:

Time to get back to the future. See you there. pic.twitter.com/6WtBdZrIoG
The anticipation and excitement surrounding the Marlins rebuild is also starting to gain steam. Five of their prospects crack Baseball America’s latest Top 100 list: Sixto Sánchez, JJ Bleday, Zac Gallen, Isan Díaz, and Edward Cabrera. This weekend, the Marlins also added a talented 1B prospect, Lewin Díaz, through the Sergio Romo trade.
The future looks bright with a solid group of young pitchers, top prospects, and an optimistic fanbase. We (Marlins fans) have to believe and trust the process. Now is the time to get behind the team every step of the way.
