Welcome to Wednesday’s White Sox (45-53) vs. Marlins (37-62) game thread.

Throughout the 2019 season, Fish Stripes is your home for daily Fish Picks prop bets. The monthly points leader for July, August, etc. wins Fish Stripes merchandise prizes. We’re also saving something special for the overall full-season points leader. The best seller in our store: Caleb “KKKKKKKaleb” Smith shirts!

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Marlins Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. 3B Brian Anderson
  3. DH Garrett Cooper
  4. 1B Neil Walker
  5. 2B Starlin Castro
  6. LF Curtis Granderson
  7. RF Harold Ramírez
  8. C Jorge Alfaro
  9. CF César Puello

P Zac Gallen (3.63 ERA, 3.94 FIP, 26.3 K%, 35.6 Hard Hit% in 22.1 IP)

Notes: This figures to be the final Marlins road game for Castro, and possibly for Walker and Granderson as well. Each of those veteran bats has posted a higher OPS on the road than at home in 2019...The Marlins are 6-5 in interleague play this season. After tonight, they have series remaining against the Rays, Twins and Royals. Last time that the club went .500 or better against AL opponents was 2014...We have new footage of ballpark construction in Wichita, where the franchise’s Triple-A affiliate will move to next year.

No game on Thursday, so Marlins alumni and gameday staff are instead hosting a Throwback Weekend pep rally (coming to both Dade and Broward). Details in the press release below...

White Sox Lineup

  1. RF Leury García
  2. LF Jon Jay
  3. 1B José Abreu
  4. 3B Yoán Moncada
  5. SS Ryan Goins
  6. C James McCann
  7. DH AJ Reed
  8. 2B Yolmer Sánchez
  9. CF Adam Engel

P Reynaldo López (5.76 ERA, 5.31 FIP, 20.5 K%, 42.5 Hard Hit% in 111.0 IP)

Notes: Jay, a Miami native, broke up Caleb Smith’s no-hit bid on Tuesday in the sixth inning. He missed a large chunk of the season with a right hip strain, but has been an on-base machine for the Sox in recent weeks. Might draw some trade interest prior to the July 31 deadline.
