Marlins Lineup

  1. LF Curtis Granderson
  2. 1B Garrett Cooper
  3. 3B Brian Anderson
  4. DH Neil Walker
  5. 2B Starlin Castro
  6. C Jorge Alfaro
  7. RF Harold Ramírez
  8. CF César Puello
  9. SS Yadiel Rivera

P Trevor Richards (4.24 ERA, 4.71 FIP, 20.8 K%, 35.1 Hard Hit% in 104.0 IP)

Notes: The Marlins were shut out for the 15th time on Sunday, so it’s been happening about once per week this season. Generally speaking, the offense has significantly improved over the past two months, but consistency from game to game continues to be an issue...Marketing for Throwback Weekend is heating up. The Marlins and FOX Sports Florida are offering a ticket deal that includes $10 of “loaded value” per person to be used at any concession location. Offer is valid for Friday, Saturday or Sunday...In between his wedding and honeymoon, Danny Martinez returns to the Fish Stripes podcast to share his big-picture assessment of where the Marlins rebuild currently stands (I will be guest-hosting for Danny next week with special guest Wells Dusenbury of the Sun Sentinel).

White Sox Lineup

  1. RF Leury García
  2. LF Jon Jay
  3. 1B José Abreu
  4. 3B Yoán Moncada
  5. DH AJ Reed
  6. C James McCann
  7. SS Ryan Goins
  8. 2B Yolmer Sánchez
  9. CF Adam Engel

P Ivan Nova (5.86 ERA, 5.45 FIP, 14.8 K%, 39.7 Hard Hit% in 110.2 IP)

Notes: The Cuban slugger Abreu is a potential free-agent fit for the Marlins this offseason. He currently owns a career-worst .794 OPS in 2019, but Statcast still sees his batted ball numbers as elite (94th percentile in average exit velocity, 96th percentile in hard hit rate). Overall, Abreu has slashed .292/.348/.512 through six major league seasons...There is some urgency for Nova to turn his season around. A pending free agent, the veteran right-hander has allowed the most hits and earned runs in the American League. A matchup with the Marlins could do the trick considering his career splits against them—0.98 ERA, 0.51 WHIP, 29 K in 27.1 IP. All of those starts occurred from 2017-18 when Nova was a member of the Pirates.
