A-Ball with Erik Oas Episode 16: Outfielder Peyton Burdick makes quick transition to pro ball

The hottest team in the Midwest League has been getting a big boost from outfielder Peyton Burdick, our special guest on the pod this week.

Outfielder Peyton Burdick (9:30) joins the podcast to talk about the transition to professional baseball after being selected by the Marlins in the third round of the 2019 MLB Draft. We learn about his athletic roots, the tough choice he made as a three-sport athlete in high school, and discover our shared love of corn hole.

The Wright State alum officially signed within days of being drafted and made his pro debut with Short Season A Batavia on June 14. Burdick has reached base safely in 23 of 27 games since then, slashing .305/.388/.514 with an excellent .903 OPS.
