The Marlins made their third comeback of the week against the Phillies on Saturday. Jordan Yamamoto ran into trouble and gave up four runs, but the Marlins produced an explosive 6-run seventh to overcome the deficit.
Jordan Yamamoto: 4 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, 4 BB, 4 K
Zach Eflin: 6 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
Yamamoto struggled with his location, but unlike last start he could not right the ship. He gave up two of his four walks in the first inning. This would lead to a two-run inning by the Phils.
The next time Yamamoto ran into trouble it started with a hit by pitch and a walk. Scott Kingery doubled into center field with two outs, to ball deflecting off JT Riddle’s glove and scoring two more runs.
Yamamoto finished the inning, but would be taken out for a pinch hitter afterwards.
The next inning was not much better for the Fish. Adam Conley came in for relief and also gave up two runs. This time it was a single by Bryce Harper and a home run by Rhys Hoskins. Conley would stay in and pitch two inning.

The rest of the bullpen got the job done, including a save from Sergio Romo. But before any of that could happen the Fish had to make their comeback. Garrett Cooper started the scoring today with an RBI single in the first. The next 8 runs would be scored between the sixth and seventh inning.

Brian Anderson led off the sixth with a single. Neil Walker followed that up with a two-run home run.
The seventh inning was the ultimate turning point, though. The Fish hit three singles and three doubles in the inning. They hit around the lineup and jumped on many early pitches. The Marlins did not settle—they kept the pressure up for the entire inning.

Harold Ramirez had himself a three-hit night and scored twice. Walker also scored twice and had three RBIs. Garrett Cooper and Riddle each had two RBIs. Anderson was walked twice, scored twice, and had a hit. The team had an overall great day pulling in 15 hits.
This is the kind of game you use to help fuel the sweep for Sunday. Trevor Richards will take on Jake Arrieta at 1:10 ET.
