On Episode 12, we talk about the current LumberKings offensive slump and the crazy first-half performances from their players. Third baseman Bubba Hollins joins the podcast (10:10) to describe bouncing back from a recurring injury, growing up around baseball (17:00), and the how tennis skills apply to his current career.
Enjoy Episode 12 of A-Ball!
Hollins arrived in the Marlins organization in 2017. He’s in the midst of a career year, slashing .311/.383/.420 during the first half. A hamstring injury limited him to 35 games so far.
Overall, the LumberKings have been averaging fewer than two runs per game in June, plummeting below the .500 mark.
Jerar Encarnación, Chris Vallimont and Humberto Mejía represented the club at the Midwest All-Star Game on Tuesday. Vallimont got the start for the West Division and Encarnación went deep to give them the lead!
HEY NOW, YOU'RE A JER-ALL STAR! @LumberKings' Jerar Encarnacion goes opposite field for a no doubt home run putting the West division up 2-1 in the 4th inning in the Midwest League All-Star Game!#Marlins | #JuntosMiami pic.twitter.com/M6V67CYS8L
