Marlins Lineup

  1. LF Curtis Granderson
  2. 1B Garrett Cooper
  3. 3B Brian Anderson
  4. 2B Starlin Castro
  5. RF Harold Ramírez
  6. C Jorge Alfaro
  7. CF JT Riddle
  8. SS Miguel Rojas
  9. P Elieser Hernandez (5.87 ERA, 2.53 FIP, 20.6 K%, 25.0 Hard Hit% in 7.2 IP)

Notes: High-A Jupiter returns from the Florida State League All-Star break and Peter O’Brien (bruised rib) is joining them on a minor league rehab assignment. It’s unclear what (if any) role he’d have on the Marlins active roster, especially with Neil Walker (quad strain) close behind on his own road to recovery, but we’ll find out relatively soon...Meanwhile, here on the site, the staff got together to update our Marlins Top 30 prospects list! Grateful for any feedback on it.

Cardinals Lineup

  1. 3B Matt Carpenter
  2. SS Paul DeJong
  3. 1B Paul Goldschmidt
  4. LF Marcell Ozuna
  5. RF Dexter Fowler
  6. C Yadier Molina
  7. 2B Kolten Wong
  8. CF Harrison Bader
  9. P Miles Mikolas (4.83 ERA, 4.78 FIP, 17.5 K%, 37.2 Hard Hit% in 78.1 IP)

Notes: Star first baseman Paul Goldschmidt has played in each of the first 70 games for the Cards since arriving in an offseason trade. However, he’s performed far below his usual standards (.262/.353/.433, 13 HR), particularly in June (.208/.309/.375, 2 HR)...Speaking of 30-something players on long contracts, Mikolas was hammered for five earned runs on eight hits in five innings last Wednesday when these clubs previously met.
