Cardinals Lineup

  1. 3B Matt Carpenter
  2. SS Paul DeJong
  3. 1B Paul Goldschmidt
  4. LF Marcell Ozuna
  5. C Yadier Molina
  6. 2B Kolten Wong
  7. RF Dexter Fowler
  8. CF Harrison Bader
  9. P Miles Mikolas (4.54 ERA, 4.74 FIP, 17.6 K%, 36.3 Hard Hit% in 73.1 IP)

Notes: Wong is arguably the most accomplished active player with Hawaiian roots. How appropriate that Jordan Yamamoto makes his major league debut against a fellow islander...Mikolas was an out-of-nowhere All-Star for the Cardinals in 2018, but has regressed significantly this season. The right-hander exited his previous outing after only four innings due to a forearm contusion.

Marlins Communications

Marlins Lineup

  1. LF Curtis Granderson
  2. 1B Garrett Cooper
  3. RF Brian Anderson
  4. 2B Starlin Castro
  5. CF Harold Ramírez
  6. 3B Martín Prado
  7. SS Miguel Rojas
  8. C Bryan Holaday
  9. P Jordan Yamamoto (Double-A stats: 3.58 ERA, 4.15 FIP, 23.7 K% in 65.1 IP)

Notes: Timing is everything. Yamamoto was added to the 40-man roster last offseason—instead of more highly regarded pitching prospects—because the Marlins risked losing him in the Rule 5 Draft, and he’s been called up for this spot start because of that 40-man status and the fact that he’s on regular rest (5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 9 K, 2 HR for Jacksonville on Friday). Expect a comparable performance to what Elieser Hernandez did on Tuesday night; Yamamoto possesses comparable stuff to Hernandez, though perhaps a slightly better breaking ball...This will be Anderson’s first time playing right field since May 10.

How to watch/listen/follow

The game gets underway at 7:10 p.m. ET. Watch on FOX Sports Florida and via MLB.TV or listen on 940 WINZ.
