Our Noticias: Elieser excellent, but Fish drop sixth straight

Tuesday’s game

Elieser Hernandez got the start against the Cardinals for the recently IL’d Caleb Smith, and it was quite the debut, as the young pitcher kept the Fish in the game.

The bullpen did the opposite, however, and the Cardinals wound up winning 7-1.

Hernandez spoke about his outing after the game. Don Mattingly commented on the loss.

In other roster news...

Today’s original scheduled starter José Ureña joined Smith on the IL with back tightness, meaning the team needs a replacement. They feel Jordan Yamamoto is up to the task and will call him up from Double-A Jacksonville.
