It's finally here, you lot! Apologies for such a long wait.
I've been a bit lazy.. But better later then never, eh?
Before I commence, I'm going on a little "rant".
Let's deem it: Matinee Minute.
Now, I'm a wee bit baffled... Mattingly's lineup choices are...queer, to say the least. Here's a usual lineup chart:
1.Dean/Granderson
2.Cooper
3.Anderson
4.Castro
5. Ramirez
Let's stop there. My query with this is, why?
No offense to Grandy and Dean, but they aren't leadoff hitters. Cooper, Anderson and Ramirez need (and deserve) the 1,2,3 spots. Come on Donnie! What are you doing?
Enough of that now, it's time for the data.
Marlins: 3.4RPG, 7.4HPG, .233/.293./.341/.634
Braves: 4.5RPG, 8.5HPG, .257/.330/.435/.765
Phillies: 4.9RPG, 8.3HPG, .242/.324./.411/.735
Mets: 4.1RPG, 8.2HPG, .247/.321/.415/.737
Nationals: 4.2RPG, 8.3HPG, .250/.325/.418/.743
Now, now.
I know you might think that we're still behind. Fear not.
For the Marlins actually held the best /-line for the last week of May! That would be:
.290/.339/.449./788
That was the 5th best in the league. 3rd best in the NL.
Onward to pitching!
NOTE: I've removed bullpen ERA from the mix..because NL East bullpens are awful. I've removed all stats besides ERA also. Let me know if guys want WHIP added.
Marlins: 3.96 ERA
Braves: 4.16 ERA
Phillies: 4.24 ERA
Mets: 4.41 ERA
Nationals: 3.75 ERA
And those damned Nats got the lead on us again.
Foulout Fun Fact: The Marlins and the Nationals have been the hottest NL East out of May.
That's all for this month, and hopefully I'll be on time on June.
