Cardinals Lineup

  1. 3B Yairo Muñoz
  2. SS Paul DeJong
  3. 1B Paul Goldschmidt
  4. LF Marcell Ozuna
  5. C Yadier Molina
  6. 2B Kolten Wong
  7. RF Dexter Fowler
  8. CF Harrison Bader
  9. P Dakota Hudson (3.70 ERA, 5.01 FIP, 15.3 K%, 45.6 Hard Hit% in 65.2 IP)

Notes: St. Louis icon Yadier Molina is back in action after two weeks on the injured list (right thumb tendon strain). He’s been having a sub-par season in the batter’s box, slashing .265/.294/.397 with four home runs (just one on the road)...Currently leading the Cardinals rotation with a 3.70 earned run average, the young right-hander Hudson is definitely due for some regression. Does it begin tonight?

Baseball Savant

Marlins Lineup

  1. LF Curtis Granderson
  2. 1B Garrett Cooper
  3. 3B Brian Anderson
  4. 2B Starlin Castro
  5. RF Harold Ramírez
  6. C Jorge Alfaro
  7. SS Miguel Rojas
  8. CF Rosell Herrera
  9. P Elieser Hernandez (Triple-A stats: 1.13 ERA, 2.10 FIP in 48.0 IP)

Notes: Elieser Hernandez has been recalled to take Caleb Smith’s scheduled start. He is one of only nine players in MLB and MiLB combined with 50-plus innings pitched this season and zero home runs allowed...Right-hander Tyler Kinley was optioned to New Orleans, and you have to think his days on the 40-man roster are numbered. Rule 5 Draft pick Riley Ferrell just began a minor league rehab assignment. Assuming no setbacks, he will need a roster spot in the coming weeks.

Sad but predictable results from the initial NL update to All-Star fan voting. The top 10 vote-getters from each position so far are listed—top 20 for outfielders—with zero Marlins players in sight. Notable ex-Marlins include J.T. Realmuto (third among catchers), Christian Yelich (second among outfielders) and Marcell Ozuna (14th among outfielders). Make your voice heard here.
