Welcome to Saturday’s Marlins (19-36) vs. Padres (30-27) game thread.

Throughout the 2019 season, Fish Stripes is your home for daily Fish Picks prop bets. The monthly points leader for June, July, etc. wins Fish Stripes merchandise prizes. The best seller in our store: Caleb “KKKKKKKaleb” Smith shirts!

Congrats to Twitter user @ghog56! He was our May 2019 champion with 70 correct picks.

Point totals have been reset as we begin a new month. The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Marlins Lineup

  1. LF Austin Dean
  2. RF Garrett Cooper
  3. 3B Brian Anderson
  4. 2B Starlin Castro
  5. CF Harold Ramírez
  6. 1B Martín Prado
  7. SS Miguel Rojas
  8. C Bryan Holaday
  9. P José Ureña (4.11 ERA, 4.18 FIP, 15.5 K%, 37.9 Hard Hit% in 65.2 IP)

Notes: Ureña is almost precisely on pace for the same production he had in 2018. Strikeout rate has dropped slightly and batting average on balls in play is elevated (from .275 to .311), but overall, he is what he is. Trade deadline chip or no? Vote before first pitch in our Twitter poll...Recently recalled JT Riddle is once again riding the bench, but I’d bet on him getting use in the later innings after sitting out Friday’s game.

Padres Lineup

  1. 3B Greg Garcia
  2. RF Franmil Reyes
  3. SS Manny Machado
  4. 1B Eric Hosmer
  5. CF Wil Myers
  6. LF Josh Naylor
  7. 2B Ian Kinsler
  8. C Austin Hedges
  9. P Nick Margevicius (4.96 ERA, 6.04 FIP, 16.7 K%, 34.7 Hard Hit% in 45.1 IP)

Notes: The 22-year-old rookie Margevicius is being handled carefully. He hasn’t been pushed beyond 95 pitches in any of his nine major league starts. This will be his first appearance for the Padres since May 18...The bullpen behind him should feel well rested thanks to Thursday’s off-day and 6 13 strong innings from Joey Lucchesi in the series opener.
