Finding his stroke after a slow start to the 2019 season, outfielder Connor Scott (11:15) talks adjustments to the Midwest, reacting to being drafted by the Marlins in the first round last summer, and his passion outside of baseball. You’ll also receive a full report on the Low-A Clinton LumberKings.
Enjoy Episode 6 of A-Ball!
Scott ranks as the No. 5 prospect in the Marlins farm system, according to MLB Pipeline. The toolsy teenager’s production does not jump off the page (.183/.276/.301, 1 HR, 6 SB in 24 G). However, he is clearly trending up at the plate. After piling up the Ks in his initial reps against Low-A competition dating back to 2018, Scott has dramatically improved his bat-to-ball skills in recent weeks (11.3 K% in last 16 games).

Highlighted briefly in this episode, first baseman Sean Reynolds launched a 456-foot home run for the LumberKings. He knew it right off the bat:
If accurate, that estimate comfortably tops any homer distance from a Marlins player at the major league level this year.
