Thanks for joining us for Saturday’s Marlins (9-22) vs. Braves (16-16) game thread.

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Braves Lineup

  1. 2B Ozzie Albies
  2. 3B Josh Donaldson
  3. 1B Freddie Freeman
  4. LF Ronald Acuña Jr.
  5. RF Nick Markakis
  6. SS Dansby Swanson
  7. C Brian McCann
  8. CF Ender Inciarte
  9. P Mike Soroka (1.62 ERA, 2.04 FIP, 29.6 K%, 26.2 Hard Hit% in 16.2 IP)

Notes: Eight-and-a-half months after hothead José Ureña started beef between these teams, fellow hothead Kevin Gausman reignited it with his own HBP attempt in the second inning of the series opener. Don Mattingly got tossed later in the game for arguing balls and strikes, but otherwise, there were no more contentious moments...Anyway, Soroka seems like a nice young man who’s unlikely to participate in such hijinks. Nasty stuff, too.

Marlins Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. RF Brian Anderson
  3. 1B Neil Walker
  4. 2B Starlin Castro
  5. C Jorge Alfaro
  6. 3B Jon Berti
  7. LF Peter O’Brien
  8. CF Rosell Herrera
  9. P Trevor Richards (4.64 ERA, 5.12 FIP, 21.7 K%, 34.1 Hard Hit% in 33.0 IP)

Notes: For the fourth time since joining the Marlins organization, Garrett Cooper is on the injured list (left hand contusion). Here is what caused the latest setback. Extremely frustrating...Since we last saw Peter O’Brien, he’s been productive at Triple-A—.278/.361/.556, 5 HR, 34.4 K% in 16 G—while getting reps at both first base and right field. The question continues to be, can the Hialeah native translate that to the big leagues? Our own Cornelius Thomas evaluated him and recommended a batting stance adjustment.
