Giants Lineup

  1. 2B Joe Panik
  2. C Stephen Vogt
  3. 1B Pablo Sandoval
  4. LF Brandon Belt
  5. 3B Evan Longoria
  6. SS Brandon Crawford
  7. CF Kevin Pillar
  8. RF Mike Yastrzemski
  9. P Tyler Beede (13.50 ERA, 7.64 FIP, 23.3 K%, 36.0 Hard Hit% in 6.2 IP)

Notes: Not much data on Tyler Beede at the major league level. The 26-year-old right-hander will be making only his fourth career start. Control figures to be an issue based on what he’s shown at Triple-A Sacramento. Even during the hot stretch earlier this season that earned him a call-up, Beede walked 9.9% of all batters faced and plunked four batters in just 34 23 innings pitched.

Marlins Lineup

  1. LF Curtis Granderson
  2. RF Garrett Cooper
  3. 3B Brian Anderson
  4. 1B Neil Walker
  5. 2B Starlin Castro
  6. CF Harold Ramírez
  7. SS Miguel Rojas
  8. C Bryan Holaday
  9. P Sandy Alcantara (4.50 ERA, 4.62 FIP, 15.2 K%, 29.3 Hard Hit% in 58.0 IP)

Notes: Your Miami Marlins own the best record in the National League since May 16 (9-3).

Their batters have combined for a .275/.329/.440 slash line, producing an average of 5.3 runs per game...Jorge Alfaro has had a huge role in that. He’s understandably getting a day off after catching four consecutive complete games over the past four days...He made it adventurous on Wednesday, but Sergio Romo improved to 11-for-11 in save opportunities this season...About one-third of the way through the regular season, I shared my Marlins thoughts on variety of topics as a guest on the Locked On MLB podcast.

How to watch/listen/follow

The game gets underway at 1:10 p.m. Watch on FOX Sports Florida and via MLB.TV or listen on 940 WINZ.

Thursday’s Fish Stripes credentialed writer is Alex Contreras (@TheRealACoN).
