Welcome to Saturday’s Marlins (11-31) vs. Mets (20-23) game thread.

Throughout the 2019 season, Fish Stripes is your home for daily Fish Picks prop bets. The monthly points leader for May, June, etc. wins Fish Stripes merchandise prizes. For example, new KKKKKKKaleb shirts!

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Mets Lineup

  1. LF Jeff McNeil
  2. SS Amed Rosario
  3. 2B Robinson Canó
  4. 1B Pete Alonso
  5. C Wilson Ramos
  6. RF Brandon Nimmo
  7. 3B Todd Frazier
  8. CF Juan Lagares
  9. P Steven Matz (3.86 ERA, 5.11 FIP, 21.8 K%, 41.0 Hard Hit% in 35.0 IP)

Notes: Including Friday night, Alonso has homered in each of his first three series vs. the Fish. Under club control through the 2024 season, he could develop into one of the all-time great Marlin killers...Matz was on the injured list with a nerve issue. This will be his first start in 15 days...The Mets have been strict about limiting star closer Edwin Díaz to only one inning per appearance, but these are desperate times and Díaz has had a full week of rest. Don’t be surprised if he factors into this game somehow.

Marlins Lineup

  1. CF Jon Berti
  2. RF Garrett Cooper
  3. 3B Brian Anderson
  4. 2B Starlin Castro
  5. C Jorge Alfaro
  6. 1B Martín Prado
  7. LF Harold Ramírez
  8. SS Miguel Rojas
  9. P Pablo López (5.93 ERA, 3.82 FIP, 23.7 K%, 34.5 Hard Hit% in 41.0 IP)

Notes: The offense woke up! Having previous scored only nine runs at Marlins Park this month, the Marlins drove home eight in the series opener against Jacob deGrom and the messy Mets defense...Eno Sarris of The Athletic identifies poor command as Pablo’s key issue this season (subscription required). His latest start came against these Mets on May 10, and it was among the very worst appearances by any pitcher in franchise history (3.0 IP, 10 H, 10 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 3 HR).
