Marlins Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. 3B Brian Anderson
  3. 2B Starlin Castro
  4. 1B Neil Walker
  5. RF Garrett Cooper
  6. C Jorge Alfaro
  7. LF Harold Ramírez
  8. CF Jon Berti
  9. P Sandy Alcantara (4.93 ERA, 4.72 FIP, 15.7 K%, 30.6 Hard Hit% in 38.1 IP)

Notes: The Marlins are making history by adding Colombian outfielder Harold Ramírez to their active roster. He does not have the ceiling of a perennial All-Star like others in this farm system do, but his signing was arguably the best value move of the Marlins offseason. Ramírez ought to immediately improve the horrendous offense we’ve seen through 38 games. Drew Steckenrider (right elbow inflammation) was transferred to the 60-day injured list to create the 40-man roster opening...Also this afternoon, they promoted Garrett Cooper and Elieser Hernandez, sent down Isaac Galloway and José Quijada, and placed Peter O’Brien on the 10-day IL with a left ribcage contusion. Updated roster below...

Marlins Communications

Sandy dazzled in his 2019 debut, but has just as many walks (21) as strikeouts (21) since then. Yikes. Zac Gallen and Elieser Hernández are thriving in New Orleans and making a push for his rotation spot...Saturday is the 16th anniversary of Jack McKeon taking charge of the 2003 squad. In case you missed it, our own Marshall Thomas revisited that bold decision.

Mets Lineup

  1. LF Jeff McNeil
  2. 3B J.D. Davis
  3. 2B Robinson Canó
  4. 1B Pete Alonso
  5. RF Michael Conforto
  6. SS Amed Rosario
  7. CF Brandon Nimmo
  8. C Tomás Nido
  9. P Jacob deGrom (3.60 ERA, 3.48 FIP, 33.5 K%, 43.2 Hard Hit% in 40.0 IP)

Notes: Infielder Jed Lowrie, who has been on the injured list all season, is expected to make his Mets debut in the coming days, but we wasn’t activated in time for this contest. Without him, they have been more or less a league-average offense...Alcantara faced them three times in 2018 and performed well (19.0 IP, 4 ER, 18 K, 1.00 WHIP).
