Thanks for joining us for Wednesday’s Marlins (8-21) vs. Indians (16-12) game thread.

Throughout the 2019 season, Fish Stripes is your home for daily Fish Picks prop bets. The monthly points leader for May, June, etc. wins Fish Stripes merchandise prizes. For example, new KKKKKKKaleb shirts!

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

(Our March/April winner is Gustavo Pimentel! Went down to the final game. Gustavo, I’ll contact you shortly to arrange the prize giveaway...)

Indians Lineup

  1. SS Francisco Lindor
  2. CF Leonys Martin
  3. 3B José Ramírez
  4. 1B Carlos Santana
  5. LF Carlos González
  6. RF Jordan Luplow
  7. 2B Jason Kipnis
  8. C Roberto Pérez
  9. P Corey Kluber (5.81 ERA, 4.18 FIP, 23.8 K% in 31.0 IP)

Notes: Kluber has been a bonafide ace for a handful of years. That shouldn’t intimidate the Marlins, though. They and the Giants are the only two MLB teams that the former AL Cy Young winner has never faced in his career...Cleveland’s offense is lifeless against left-handed pitchers like KKKKKKKaleb, slashing .223/.308/.310 with only four home runs in 274 plate appearances.

Marlins Lineup

  1. LF Curtis Granderson
  2. SS Miguel Rojas
  3. RF Brian Anderson
  4. 2B Starlin Castro
  5. 1B Martín Prado
  6. C Jorge Alfaro
  7. 3B Jon Berti
  8. CF Rosell Herrera
  9. P Caleb Smith (2.17 ERA, 2.63 FIP, 33.9 K% in 29.0 IP)

Notes: Smith’s April dominance compares favorably to any month that we’ve seen from a Marlins starter since José Fernández. Curious to see where he goes from here...Garrett Cooper (left hand contusion) takes a seat after Tuesday’s HBP. Both he and Neil Walker are candidates for the injured list if their conditions don’t improve during the upcoming off day. More Marlins injury updates—majors and minor leagues—in here.
