Marlins vs. Braves: Start time, how to watch, game thread and Fish Picks—April 7, 2019

Game preview, lineups, news and props for Marlins vs. Braves in Atlanta.

MLB: Miami Marlins at Atlanta Braves Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Thanks for joining us for Sunday’s Marlins (3-6) vs. Braves (4-4) game thread.

Throughout the 2019 season, Fish Stripes is your home for daily Fish Picks prop bets. I posted the full introduction toward the end of Spring Training. The monthly points leader for March/April, May, June, etc. wins Fish Stripes merchandise prizes.

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Marlins Lineup

  1. SS Miguel Rojas
  2. 1B Martín Prado
  3. 3B Brian Anderson
  4. 2B Starlin Castro
  5. CF Lewis Brinson
  6. RF Peter O’Brien
  7. C Chad Wallach
  8. LF Rosell Herrera
  9. P Caleb Smith

Notes: Given his recent injury history, declining performance and uninspiring Spring Training, there was a case to be made that Prado did not belong on the Marlins Opening Day roster. He has silenced those skeptics with a blistering .529/.579/.706 slash line. No pitcher has gotten him out since Monday!

Marlins Communications

Braves Lineup

  1. 2B Ozzie Albies
  2. 3B Josh Donaldson
  3. 1B Freddie Freeman
  4. LF Ronald Acuña Jr.
  5. RF Johan Camargo
  6. SS Dansby Swanson
  7. CF Ender Inciarte
  8. C Alex Jackson
  9. P Sean Newcomb

Notes: These Braves have thrived against left-handed pitching this season (.306/.352/.510, 109 wRC+). Seems important to note on a day where Smith is starting and Wei-Yin Chen is available out of the Miami bullpen...Catcher Brian McCann landed on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain after sliding awkwardly into third base on Saturday night. His replacement, Jackson, has no prior major league experience.

How to watch/listen/follow

The game gets underway at 1:20 p.m. ET. Watch on FOX Sports Florida and via MLB.TV or listen on 940 WINZ.
