Look, I get what FOX Sports Florida was trying to do Friday night during the Marlins-Braves game.
Outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. is the reigning NL Rookie of the Year. FS Florida color analyst Todd Hollandsworth is a former NL ROY himself (1996 with Dodgers). With Acuña opening his second major league season with a mediocre week at the plate (.150./346/.300 slash line), Holly could have some valuable insight about what’s it’s like to be in his shoes!
So Paul Severino asked his partner, “How do you avoid that sophomore slump?”
“Eh, you just keep doing what you’re doing,” Hollandsworth said. “He’s fine.”
And right on cue...
The Miami Marlins broadcast showed a graphic that questioned if Ronald Acuna was having a sophomore slump.

Beware of small sample sizes, folks.
That was Acuña’s 28th career home run. Eight(!) of them have come against the Marlins. Let’s not give him any extra motivation, please.
