Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Marlins fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.
After listening to Derek Jeter’s latest comments to the media and getting the 2019 regular season underway, Fish fans still like what’s on the horizon. Despite a losing record entering Wednesday’s game and the inevitability of extending their playoff drought, 86% of survey respondents like the long-term plan under new ownership.

Worth noting, though, that figure is down from 95% the previous week.
It’s been a dramatic opening week for the Marlins, whose improved pitching staff is keeping them in more close games than last season. But with legitimate talent comes more scrutiny for the manager trusted with putting those players in positions to be successful.
Only 59% of fans surveyed about Don Mattingly’s job performance approve of him (86% support entering Opening Day). Maybe they didn’t like him deflecting blame to the umpires on Monday?
Thanks to everybody who participated in the second edition of Fish Stripes FanPulse. Of course, we’re still glad to accept more sign-ups (remember to check your email, including the spam folder).
