Game preview, lineups, news and props for Marlins vs. Mets in Miami.

MLB: Spring Training-New York Mets at Miami Marlins Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Thanks for joining us for Wednesday’s Marlins (2-4) vs. Mets (4-1) game thread.

Throughout the 2019 season, Fish Stripes is your home for daily Fish Picks prop bets. I posted the full introduction toward the end of Spring Training. The monthly points leader for March/April, May, June, etc. wins Fish Stripes merchandise prizes.

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Mets Lineup

  1. LF Brandon Nimmo
  2. 1B Pete Alonso
  3. 2B Robinson Canó
  4. RF Michael Conforto
  5. 3B J.D. Davis
  6. CF Keon Broxton
  7. SS Amed Rosario
  8. C Tomás Nido
  9. P Jacob deGrom

Notes: Jeff McNeil is available to pinch-hit off the bench despite a “banged up” knee, manager Mickey Callaway says...The Mets have beaten the Fish in seven of their past eight matchups dating back to last season...The reigning NL Cy Young award winner, deGrom has allowed three earned runs or fewer in 30 straight starts, including 25 straight quality starts...Miami ought to do something against him early to have a fighting chance against a resilient offense:

Marlins Lineup

  1. LF Curtis Granderson
  2. 3B Brian Anderson
  3. 1B Neil Walker
  4. 2B Starlin Castro
  5. SS JT Riddle
  6. CF Lewis Brinson
  7. C Chad Wallach
  8. RF Rosell Herrera
  9. P Trevor Richards

Notes: Closing out their first homestand of 2019, it’s been a struggle for the Marlins to put butts in the seat. After announcing an attendance of 25,423 on Opening Day, they’ve averaged only 6,825 in the five games since. Despite the quality of the starting pitchers, I’m curious how low that figure will be for this contest considering the mid-week early start time.

How to watch/listen/follow

The game gets underway at 6:10 p.m. ET. Watch on FOX Sports Florida and via MLB.TV or listen on 940 WINZ.
