Thanks for joining us for Saturday’s Marlins (8-18) vs. Phillies (14-12) game thread.

Throughout the 2019 season, Fish Stripes is your home for daily Fish Picks prop bets. I posted the full introduction toward the end of Spring Training. The monthly points leader for March/April, May, June, etc. wins Fish Stripes merchandise prizes. For example, new KKKKKKKaleb shirts!

(Do you know of any South Florida businesses who might want to sponsor additional Fish Picks prizes? Details here.)

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Marlins Lineup

  1. LF Curtis Granderson
  2. 1B Miguel Rojas
  3. RF Brian Anderson
  4. 2B Starlin Castro
  5. C Jorge Alfaro
  6. CF Isaac Galloway
  7. 3B Jon Berti
  8. SS Rosell Herrera
  9. P Trevor Richards (3.72 ERA, 4.38 FIP, 22.8 K% in 29.0 IP)

Notes: Richards is receiving a pathetic 1.24 runs of support per nine innings, which ranks lowest among all MLB starters (h/t Jeremy Frank, @MLBRandomStats). Not an optimal lineup for breaking that trend as Neil Walker sits with hamstring tightness...It’s been evident since very early in the season that Lewis Brinson has a broken approach at the plate. I made the case for sending him down to hopefully straighten out his career.

Phillies Lineup

  1. CF Andrew McCutchen
  2. SS Jean Segura
  3. RF Bryce Harper
  4. 1B Rhys Hoskins
  5. C J.T. Realmuto
  6. LF Nick Williams
  7. 2B César Hernández
  8. 3B Maikel Franco
  9. P Jake Arrieta (2.65 ERA, 4.49 FIP, 18.4 K% in 34.0 IP)

Notes: Segura is a key reinforcement for the Phillies (.328/.384/.478 in 73 PA prior to suffering a hamstring strain). They had a rocky stretch while he was on the injured list...Statcast estimates that Realmuto’s go-ahead home run on Friday would’ve stayed in the yard at any other major league venue.
