Thanks for joining us for Wednesday’s Marlins (4-14) vs. Cubs (7-9) game thread.

Throughout the 2019 season, Fish Stripes is your home for daily Fish Picks prop bets. I posted the full introduction toward the end of Spring Training. The monthly points leader for March/April, May, June, etc. wins Fish Stripes merchandise prizes. (Do you know of any South Florida businesses who might want to sponsor additional Fish Picks prizes? Details here.)

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Cubs Lineup

  1. RF Ben Zobrist
  2. 3B Kris Bryant
  3. 1B Anthony Rizzo
  4. SS Javier Báez
  5. CF Jason Heyward
  6. C Willson Contreras
  7. 2B Daniel Descalso
  8. LF Kyle Schwarber
  9. P Cole Hamels

Notes: The Cubs are seeking their first three-game winning streak of the season. Though it’s hardly surprisingly to see a desperate contender in position for the sweep, the Marlins should be frustrated to have been held scoreless thus far against one of MLB’s shakiest bullpens (5.1 IP on Monday and Tuesday).

Marlins Lineup

  1. CF Isaac Galloway
  2. 1B Martín Prado
  3. 3B Brian Anderson
  4. C Jorge Alfaro
  5. 2B Starlin Castro
  6. SS Miguel Rojas
  7. LF Austin Dean
  8. RF Rosell Herrera
  9. P Sandy Alcantara

Notes: Don Mattingly will try anything to spark the offense, including batting Galloway in the leadoff spot (despite him not even being on the 40-man roster until yesterday)...Remember that Jarlin García was recalled along with Galloway; with an off day approaching Thursday, it’s highly likely that the Marlins get him some work in this series finale...Curtis Granderson is auctioning off his Jackie Robinson Day game-used items to benefit kids. Spread the offer around!
