Thanks for joining us for Friday’s Marlins (3-10) vs. Phillies (7-4) game thread.

Throughout the 2019 season, Fish Stripes is your home for daily Fish Picks prop bets. I posted the full introduction toward the end of Spring Training. The monthly points leader for March/April, May, June, etc. wins Fish Stripes merchandise prizes. (Do you know of any South Florida businesses who might want to sponsor additional Fish Picks prizes? Details here.)

The Fish Picks leaderboard will update daily to let you know where you stand.

Phillies Lineup

  1. LF Andrew McCutchen
  2. SS Jean Segura
  3. RF Bryce Harper
  4. 1B Rhys Hoskins
  5. C J.T. Realmuto
  6. CF Odubel Herrera
  7. 2B Cesar Hernandez
  8. 3B Maikel Franco
  9. P Jake Arrieta

Notes: Clear your schedule because the Phillies play at a leisurely pace. Eight of their 12 games have taken at least 3:15 to complete...It’s been a relatively quiet first two weeks for Realmuto (.237/.333/.342, 82 wRC+, 0.3 fWAR), and historically, he always fared much better with the bat away from Marlins Park. However, the star catcher isn’t burdened with carrying the entire offense, like he was at times for the 2018 Marlins.

Marlins Lineup

  1. LF Curtis Granderson
  2. 3B Brian Anderson
  3. 1B Neil Walker
  4. 2B Starlin Castro
  5. C Jorge Alfaro
  6. SS Miguel Rojas
  7. RF Austin Dean
  8. CF Rosell Herrera
  9. P Sandy Alcantara

Notes: Even in a season of low expectations, the Marlins’ run production has been embarrassing (2.62 runs per game). Collectively, they are undisciplined, power-deficient and sloppy on the basepaths. Somebody—maybe Austin Dean?—needs to step up their game against Arrieta and the well-rested Phillies bullpen.

Last-minute tickets??!?!

Thank you for tolerating this shameless plugging throughout the past month. It’s just that Fish Stripes is trying to prove to the Marlins we have a large audience of passionate fans who deserve discounted tickets and an exclusive giveaway. Take advantage of this offer now and that will convince the club to collaborate with us on additional games later in the summer!

How to watch/listen/follow

The game gets underway at 7:10 p.m. ET. Watch on FOX Sports Florida and via MLB.TV or listen on 940 WINZ.
