Ely Sussman guest co-hosts The Marlins Catch podcast

Early takeaways from 2019 Spring Training, and discussing the short-term health of Víctor Víctor Mesa and the long-term health of the Marlins franchise.

Thanks to Nick Adelson for the invitation to co-host Monday night’s live episode of The Marlins Catch podcast. I also appeared on the show last month.

We spent a full hour recapping the key performances from the Marlins’ first three Spring Training games, focusing heavily on promising outfielders like Lewis Brinson, Monte Harrison and Víctor Víctor Mesa (The Marlins announced Tuesday morning that Mesa has a Grade 1 right hamstring strain. It is the least severe type of strain, but he has been reassigned from major league camp to minor league rehab.)

Nick and I provided our reasons to be optimistic about the direction of the team and choose which young pitcher we believe has the most potential to lead the major league rotation someday.
