Three high-profile Marlins position players will be getting reps in the Puerto Rican Winter League beginning this weekend.

For many players within the Marlins organization, baseball never stops. Just like last year, Fish Stripes will be consistently updating the whereabouts of your favorite Fish during the offseason. At FishStripes.com/offseason, you can find updates on them, including stats, highlights and (small sample size) analysis.

Practically every player listed above performed poorly last week. That applies to Peter O’Brien too, though he did add another home run to his season total.

Limited to third base thus far by Leones del Escogido, Joe Dunand finally got a start at shortstop on Sunday. However, he is still being buried at the bottom of their lineup and frequently removed in close, late-game situations.

Kolton Mahoney might be done for the season? In a previous interview with local D.R. media, the right-hander indicated that he was contracted to play for only one month. I will seek clarification on that...

Mexican Pacific League

Kickham continues to lead all of the league’s qualifiers in earned run average. Zero homers allowed in the process.

Canada was eliminated from the tournament following their 3-1 loss to Australia. In three games, outfielder Tristan Pompey went 1-for-7 with four walks. His .786 OPS was second-highest on the team.

Unable to secure its place in the 2020 Olympics, Canada has another opportunity at the Americas Olympic Qualifier in Arizona coming up in March. Expect Pompey to be there.

The toolsiest prospects in the Marlins organization, shortstop Jazz Chisholm and outfielder Monte Harrison, will suit up for Criollos de Caguas beginning this Friday. For the second straight year (now with some MLB experience under his belt), Isan Díaz is playing for Gigantes de Carolina. In 2018-19, Isan logged 33 games for the team and even experimented a bit at third base.

At least in Jazz’s case, Fish Stripes has learned that he’ll be in Puerto Rico for about five weeks, leaving shortly before Christmas.
