Fish Bites Episode 45: FOX Sports Florida’s Kelly Saco, World Series takeaways

For the first time in more than a decade, Major League Baseball’s World Series champion hails from the NL East division. Congrats to the Washington Nationals on their 2019 title. FOX Sports Florida’s Kelly Saco joins the show for a fun, fascinating interview about her Miami upbringing and career progress (16:50). A Suncoast Regional Emmy nominee for her television reporting this season, Saco also became the first woman to ever work as an analyst on a Marlins radio broadcast.

While studying broadcast journalism and Spanish at Syracuse University, Saco also played four seasons on their Division I softball team. She believes that experience continues to serve her well in this current role (and certainly distinguishes her from most couch potato media members).

Saco traveled out west recently to report on the Marlins prospects who participated in the 2019 Arizona Fall League. “Inside the Marlins: Arizona Fall League” premieres Nov. 7 on FOX Sports Florida.
