Ely updates you on the 2019 MLB postseason (1:58), specifically the Marlins connections on the rosters of both the advancing and eliminated teams. With Giancarlo Stanton entering his 30s and Marcell Ozuna entering free agency, we revisit the decisions to trade them away and the performances of the players acquired in return (6:00). Then, after debuting the Ultimate Marlins Depth Charts series with right-handed pitchers on the previous episode, the analysis continues with southpaws (30:30).

Enjoy Episode 43!

As a refresher, the Marlins received RHP Jorge Guzman, SS José Devers and 2B Starlin Castro in the Stanton trade (they’re also on the hook for $30 million of Stanton’s contract assuming that he doesn’t utilize his opt-out clause in 2020). For Ozuna, they added RHP Sandy Alcantara, OF Magneuris Sierra, RHP Zac Gallen (who has since been flipped to Arizona for SS Jazz Chisholm) and LHP Daniel Castano.

These are the featured left-handed pitchers (please note that the NL average in 2019 was a 4.39 ERA and 4.44 FIP):
