Matchup Summary

Pablo Lopez opens August for the Marlins with his sixth Major League start since being called up at the end of June. The righty was roughed up in his last outing against the Nationals, surrendering four runs on nine hits in 5 2⁄3 innings.

Despite earning a loss against the Dodgers on Thursday, Anibal Sanchez’s line wasn’t as bad as the numbers may indicate. Sanchez gave up five runs (four earned), but it was a couple of defensive errors and a few bloop hits that led to the loss.
