The latest trade hubbub:

With no game for the Marlins yesterday, most of the discussion on the ol’ interwebs centered around trades. MLB.com beat writer Joe Frisaro spent his off day answering mailbag questions, and you can guess the primary topic of discussion.

With the Yankees heavily involved in negotiations for JA Happ at the moment, Pinstripe Alley is skeptical of Dan Straily addressing their rotation needs. Straily comes in 12th at The Athletic’s ranking of available starters. Jim Bowden expects the Mariners and Angels to give him some consideration.

The Dodgers are the most recent team seen scouting Marlins relievers:

The Mariners and Red Sox are considering Brad Ziegler, who has turned it around since losing the closer’s job. And apparently, everyone else is on him, too:

The Fish Bites pod has even more trade talk coming at you real soon.

And not a day after being called the deadline’s most interesting lefty, the Sun-Sentinel gave us a further glimpse at the much coveted Adam Conley’s career turnaround.

Other news

Tayron Guerrero is working his way back to the bigs and appeared in another rehab outing for Jacksonville yesterday.

The team is boosting local marketing efforts in an effort to connect with the community as well as attract larger audiences:

And this is another reminder you can support youth baseball and the Marlins Foundation by participating in the Fox Sports fantasy auction during tonight’s telecast. There are some pretty sweet packages up for grabs.

Up next:

The Nationals are in town and will send Stephen Strasburg (6-7) to the mound to take on Dan Straily (4-4) tonight at 7:10 PM.
