Marlins links 6/8/18: Mikolas too much for Marlins, but a couple dreams continue.

Yesterday’s game

Jose Martínez’s two-run home run in the first inning off Trevor Richards provided all the offense the Cardinals would need as they would go on to beat the Fish, 4-1. Miles Mikolas muted the Marlins’ bats.

Called up to start before the game, St. Louis-area native Richards continued his underdog story in front of his friends and family. His high school sweetheart’s explained how special that was:

Another recent call-up, Ben Meyer, made his MLB debut in relief. It was a big week for Meyer’s family, too.

Mattingly sounded content with each of his pitchers’ performances:
