Yesterday’s game
Caleb Smith dominated the Mets over 6 2⁄3 innings, allowing just one run and striking out eight. J.T. Realmuto led the charge on offense, with three hits and two RBI. After laboring in his most recent appearance Sunday against the Braves, Brad Ziegler shut the door in the ninth inning with relative ease.
You can read our excellent full recap here, but here’s the gist of it:

With some availability on Tuesday afternoon, the Marlins manager also stopped by the Dan Patrick Show for an extended interview. At one point, he opened up about his present and future with the organization at the onset of a rebuild:
“What we’re doing is exhilarating, honestly. I think Derek [Jeter] coming in and what he’s set forth for us with building in the system through the minor leagues, how we’re gonna play—clear direction. And you feel like, we’re gonna get somewhere and it’s gonna be special.”
Ziegler showered Smith with praise as well.
Fish debate
The Marlins are in full rebuild mode, but we ask if Justin Bour should stick around anyway.
The New York media hammers Jeter for “credential-gate,” the latest in a long line of PR gaffes.
The Sun-Sentinel reminds us the Process isn’t guaranteed to work.
