Last night’s game

The Marlins did not listen to Billy Zane and instead walked off with the victory after Yadiel Rivera’s 10th-inning single put the Fish past the Phillies, 2-1.

To force extras in the first place, Justin Bour ended Zach Eflin’s shutout bid with a pinch-hit home run in the sixth inning.

The current four-game winning streak is a new season high for Miami. Read our full recap here.

Stats of the day

Fish Stripes Twitter always has your very random stat of the day, so don’t get it confused with these very logical and pertinent stats of the day:

Player news

Marlins prospect Aaron Knapp received some big-league advice from his brother Aaron, who is a catcher with the Phillies. Also in the above link are updates on J.T. Riddle’s rehab (shoulder) and No. 14 prospect Braxton Lee hitting the minor league DL (hamstring).

  • The Marlins got Tyler Kinley back after the Twins had taken him in the Rule 5 draft. Kinley struggled mightily in major league action (24.30 ERA!), but still shows some promise.

Have a laugh

Mattingly is doing his part to save the team some money.

Veteran reinforcements making an impact

Marlin Maniac identifies the players most responsible for carrying the Marlins to recent success after the 5-17 start to the season.
