The Pirates beat the the Marlins 7-3. Another game in which Jose Urena gave up a lot of runs early and had the fish playing from behind. He allowed four runs on five innings, this is the second time Urena allowed four runs this season. The Marlins got on the board in the first inning courtesy of a Brian Anderson RBI, however, that was the only run scored until a Bour Bomb in the seventh inning. That was Justin Bour’s fourth home run in his last five games.

The Captain won’t attend tonight’s game

Ex-Yankees captain and current Marlins owner Derek Jeter will not be attending any of the games in Yankee Stadium. Jeter hasn’t been back to Yankee Stadium since the retiring of his number. Jeter told NJ.com, “it would be an awkward situation for me.” It seems that although he’s the Marlins CEO Derek is very much still a Yankee.

J.T. Realmuto is close to joining the Marlins

J.T. is as close to joining the Fish as he has been all season and they desperately need him. J.T.’s bat has been sorely missed in a lineup that presents no danger to opposing pitchers. In a rehab game with the Jupiter Hammerheads he went 3-for-3 with a double and a home run. Look for him to join the Fish either in New York, Milwaukee, or Los Angeles.

Brian Anderson R.O.Y.

Brian Anderson not Lewis Brinson is the early Marlins position player to win the R.O.Y., many baseball experts had Brinson pegged for the award but after a rough start to the season (.131 avg.) that doesn’t look likely anymore. Enter Brian Anderson who's hitting .268 and leading the Marlins in runs scored and RBIs. Anderson is trending upwards and that bodes well for Miami.

Giancarlo Stanton versus the Marlins

The Marlins are playing the Yankees tonight at 6:35p.m. the Fish are looking to get back in the win column and Stanton is looking to back on track after rough start of the season has him hitting .220. Ex-Yankee Caleb Smith is on the mound for the Marlins and Luis Severino is on the bump for the Yankees.
