POLL: Did Marlins get their 25th anniversary logo right?

So much teal!

Derek Jeter and Charlie Hough unveiled the logo on Tuesday afternoon.

Judging by the initial reaction, it was the most popular decision in Florida/Miami Marlins franchise history. On Tuesday afternoon, in front of local media and original season ticket members (yes, they still exist), CEO Derek Jeter and former pitcher Charlie Hough unveiled this 25th anniversary logo:

Here’s how SportsLogos.Net’s Chris Creamer describes it:

Featuring a very welcome return to teal, the [color] the team used predominantly along with black and silver during their time as the Florida Marlins from 1993-2011, the logo shows the original marlin leaping through a “2” and a “5” with the years 1993 * 2018 above on a silver ribbon. There are no traces of the current look to be found on the logo.

For comparison’s sake, Creamer reminds us how the Marlins visually expressed previous anniversary seasons:

They will celebrate “anniversary weekend” from June 8-10 against the San Diego Padres. Commemorative throwback pinstripe uniforms to be worn during all three games feature the special logo on the right shirt sleeve:
