Marlins News and Links for February 16th, 2018...

  • The Marlins were among 15 teams attending Tim Lincecum’s workout yesterday at Driveline in Kent, Washington. The 33-year-old two-time Cy Young award winner is looking to make a comeback after not pitching at all last season.

  • Presumptive starting third baseman Martin Prado was surprised by his former teammate’s trade requests.

  • Fangraphs’ Sheryl Ring says that Miami-Dade County could still get some money from Jeffrey Loria, if they get creative.

  • ICYMI at Fish Stripes: Arbitration results! The team’s final arbitration hearing occurred yesterday, involving de facto ace (with apologies to Jose Urena) Dan Straily. Straily has asked for $3.55 million while the Marlins have would like to pay him $3.37 million for his services. We will update as soon as we know the final figure.
