Marlins News
The Marlins lost again on Sunday at Miller Park. The Fish were the “home team”, having been displaced from Miami for the weekend series due to Hurricane Irma. It was the Marlins 17th loss in their last 20 games.
Miguel Rojas had to leave the game after diving for a ground ball up the middle. He was diagnosed with a shoulder strain and will be evaluated day to day.
Derek Jeter’s personal hitting coach in 2009, Gary Denbo, continues to be the favorite for a GM-type job with the Marlins under new ownership. See updates on nine, #4.
If you have $250 burning a hole in your pocket, take a look at the “Players Weekend Jersey Auction” on MLB.com. The high bid for Giancarlo “Cruz” Stanton’s jersey is currently at $1,009.
Is Stanton still in the conversation for MVP this year? Check out Clark Spencer’s column and take the pulse on what some national writers are saying.

Around the League
The Cleveland Indians looked to start another winning streak by defeating the Royals on Saturday and winning the American League Central title.
According to the LasVegasInsider.com as of September 11, the Indians are the second choice to win the World Series this year at 9/2. The Rockies are 66-1!!!
The Red Sox got away with a slap on the wrist for stealing signs from the Yankees using technology.
David Price is moving from the DL to the bullpen in time for the postseason. Alex Speier lays out why the move makes sense for Boston.
Tigers starter Matt Boyd came oh so close to a no-hitter against the White Sox, until Tim Anderson decided to ruin the party with two outs in the ninth.
Finally, anybody can forget what inning it is in a baseball game, just ask Matt Dermondy.
