Rojas is the latest Miami player to go down with an injury. Martin Prado was also recently placed on the disabled list.
Rojas, 28, was having a productive season, so much so that manager Don Mattingly gave him starting time over shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria. Over 24 games this season, Rojas is batting .338/.389/.400 with four RBIs.
With Prado down, Rojas was likely the favorite to start at first base. Now, Derek Dietrich could be a candidate to receive the majority of the playing time.
