Miami Marlins baseball is back, so for the first time this season, we’re here to tell you everything you need to know about the first game game of 2017.
What: Miami Marlins vs. Washington Nationals
When: 1:05 p.m.
Where: Washington, D.C.
Who: Edinson Volquez vs. Stephen Strasburg
TV: Fox Sports Florida
Radio: 940 AM WINZ, WAQI 710, WZTU 94.9 HD-2
Things to watch:
Edinson Volquez: Volquez has experience pitching on Opening Day before, but it will be interesting to see how he performs in his first game in a Marlins uniform.
The Bullpen: All offseason, we’ve heard about the “super bullpen” the Marlins have constructed, and for the first time, we [might] be able to see it in action. Volquez rightfully will want to pitch deep into the game, but watch for the new relievers throughout the three game series with the Nationals.
J.T. Realmuto: Miami has done some lineup shuffling, and Realmuto has been shifted in the two spot in the order as a result. It will be interesting to see how the Marlins catcher produces higher in the order.
