Icthyomancy explainer

I'll be out of town this weekend so expect a couple of game threads minimally stocked with info. Upon my return I hope to be greeted with the news that the Marlins dragged the Pirates down to the blue depths and emerged with a sweep.

Pitching Matchup

Team Pitcher 2017 ERA 2017 FIP 2017 ZiPS Projected ERA
PIT Jameson Taillon 2.13 3.72 3.79
MIA Adam Conley 5.14 4.03 4.13

Jameson Taillon (prounced "Tay-Own" if you're paying homage to the man's French-Canadian roots, or "Talon" if you're an American who doesn't care about those things) was the 2nd overall pick in the 2010 draft. Despite missing two full seasons (2014-2015) due to Tommy John surgery, Taillon appears to be living up to the promise of providing a nice compliment to Gerrit Cole at the top of the Pirates rotation. He can rev his two-seam fastball up to 95 MPH, and has a nice curve to go along with his still developing changeup.

Adam Conley's coming off of a nice six inning, one run effort against the Padres in San Diego.

Today's Lineups

PITTSBURGH PIRATES MIAMI MARLINS
Josh Harrison - 3B J.T. Realmuto - C
Jordy Mercer - SS Martin Prado - 3B

Realmuto sliding into lead off to allow Dee Gordon a day of rest, DD will man 2nd base and bat 7th.

Question of the day:

When is Thomas going to post Icthyomancy standings?
