Marlins vs. Rockies: Game 111 Thread

Ichiro seeks 3,000 in rubber match versus Rockies.

Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The Marlins offense has struggled on its road trip so far, scoring just 17 runs in five games. Miami is 1-4 this week, but will look to turn things around and take the series versus the Rockies Sunday in Colorado.

Adam Conley (7-6) only lasted four innings in his last start versus the Cubs on Monday, but has been on a roll lately allowing two runs or less in eight of his last nine appearances. He last faced the Rockies on June 17, going 5.2 innings and allowed just one hit in the no decision. Conley has been consistent and will need to continue this trend on Sunday.

The Rockies will put Jon Gray on the mound in the rubber match. Gray (8-4) has pitched very well this season recording 120 strikeouts in 114.2 innings, a 1.13 WHIP and hasn't lost since June 3. He threw five innings of shutout baseball in Tuesdays win versus the Dodgers, and has allowed just two runs in his last 26 innings of work.

The real story will be Ichiro getting the start in center as he seeks 3,000 hits. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10.
