After losing six of their last eight and 11 of 15 games, the Marlins are looking for a crucial sweep of the Pirates to keep pace with St. Louis.
Jose Urena (1-4) will get the start for the fifth time in the past month for Miami, as he seeks to rebound from his last two outings. He's allowed 13 earned runs and seven walks in his past 10 innings versus the Reds and Cardinals. Urena recorded a quality start versus the New York Mets July 24, allowing one run and no walks in a Marlins loss, but has showed that he has the mechanics that Miami needs to make a run at October.
Ryan Vogelsong (2-2) will be getting the start for Pittsburgh and has allowed more than three runs just once all season. He had a rough outing in his victory versus the Giants August 15, in which he allowed four runs and nine hits in 5.2 innings of work.
Miami desperately needs a victory to keep within striking distance of St. Louis and Los Angeles in the wild card. The game is scheduled to start at 1:35.
