The Marlins face off against last year's National League Champions, the New York Mets, and as one would hope in late July, the stakes are high.
The obvious story here is the chance for the Fish to do some serious damage to a close divisional/wild card opponent, but there are other storylines swirling like wildfire around this series as well. Will Ichiro! get his 3,000th hit? Will Justin Bour return at full strength? Will Adam Conley make it through the Met's lineup thrice? Do the Marlins have another major (or minor) trade up their sleeves? Will the Mets be emboldened to make a move to help out their offense (or pushed to a desperation gamble because of a poor result)? WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN? WONT ANYONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!
Fanning the flames for the Marlins will be Adam Conley, blowing with pursed lips in a feeble attempt to hold back the inferno for the Mets is Logan Verrett.
Pitching Matchup:

MIA | Adam Conley | 3.61 | 3.91 | 3.99 |
NYM | Logan Verrett | 4.21 | 5.37 | 4.65 |
