MLB Score: Marlins 5, Braves 8

Braves rally in the sixth to continue their domination of the Marlins

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Another day another game the Marlins lose to the Brave. The Marlins, who are in the wild card chase, needed to show up after an awful series in Detroit but the Marlins let Detroit series carry over into this series. The Braves, who have the worst home record in MLB, are now 7-2 against the Marlins on the season. The Marlins have now allowed twenty five runs over their three game losing streak.

The game started off well for the Marlins as Justin Bour hit a three run home run to give the Marlins a 3-0 lead. However Wei-Yin Chen (4-3) struggled all night giving up eight hits and four runs in less than six innings of work, Chen now has 7.27 ERA over his last five starts.

Following a hour long rain delay the Braves started their comeback cutting the Marlins lead 3-2 after Freddie Freeman's triple and Nick Matkaki' single. The Braves took the lead for good after Jeff Francoeur's double, and Erik Aybar's single, pinch hitter Brandon Synder the hit the two run go ahead triple followed by Chase d'Arnaud's RBI single.

The Marlins could never climb back in the game despite having the bases loaded in the fifth but failed to score any runs. Mike Foltynewicz pitched three innings and gave up three runs, for the Braves Dario Alvarez (2-1) was the winning pitcher.
