The Marlins top prospect, Tyler Kolek spoke of discomfort in his right elbow, and will now be examined by team doctors today. The 20-year-old, who was selected #2 in the 2014 MLB Draft is valued as the No. 1 player in the organization.

As if you thought there couldn't possibly be more power in Giancarlo Stanton's swing, there is. He demolished a pitch out of the park and over a building during an 8-4 loss to the Twins. Let's hope he displays that more at Marlins Park.

Jarred Cosart hopes to rebound from a terrible 2015 campaign in which he overcame vertigo. He's developed a new delivery and a 'clear mind-set' this spring that will try and help him establish himself as a lock in the rotation.

Jose Fernandez is trying new things to outsmart and overpower hitters, Craig Davis writes.

Marlin Maniac's list of the top 20 Marlins players is now a quarter of the way through, with the best first baseman the franchise has ever seen, Derrek Lee falling at #15.

Around the League

The Braves acquired pitcher Eric O'Flaherty in a trade from the Pirates. Atlanta had to give up cash considerations for the veteran lefty coming off of Tommy John surgery two seasons ago.

Outfielder David Murphy has opted out of his minor league contract with the Red Sox. The decision makes sense, combining the fact that Boston has a crowded outfield, and Murphy has stated he'd consider retiring rather than playing in the minors.

Before the Blue Jays went on to beat the Rays 7-3 on Sunday, Toronto pitcher Drew Hutchinson left the game due to a freak accident where he was struck in the back of the head by a baseball headed for second base thrown by catcher A.J. Jimenez.

The Brewers suffered a huge loss in the relief department with the news that Will Smith will likely start the season on the disabled list. Smith suffered a torn knee ligament, in a very strange way, by taking off his cleats after a game. As if things could get any worse for Milwaukee.
